Last Updated: May 2026
At SnapTabs, your privacy is our absolute priority. We built this extension with the core principle that your browsing data belongs to you and no one else.
1. Data Collection & Storage
We do not collect, transmit, or store your data on any external servers.
All data generated by SnapTabs (including your saved tabs, session names, URLs, and favicons) is stored strictly locally on your device using Chrome's built-in `chrome.storage.local` API.
2. No Analytics or Tracking
SnapTabs does not use any third-party analytics (like Google Analytics), tracking pixels, or telemetry. We do not track how you use the extension, which websites you save, or when you use it.
3. Required Permissions
SnapTabs requests specific Chrome permissions only for its core functionality:
tabs: Required to read the titles and URLs of your open tabs so they can be saved into a session.storage: Required to save your tab sessions locally on your computer.favicon: Required to display the website icons next to your saved tabs in the extension popup.
4. Third-Party Access
Since we do not collect your data, we cannot and do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties, advertisers, or organizations.
5. Offline Functionality
SnapTabs works completely offline. It makes zero external network requests to save or manage your tabs.
6. Changes to This Policy
If we ever make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page. However, our commitment to 100% local storage and zero data collection will never change.
